EPIC Man Race Report 2017

Last year the EPIC team had a meeting and the conversation turned towards middle distance races. EPIC have been organising events in the NW now for 11 years and we thought that a really tough, challenging and great middle distance race in the NW could be a great additional to the regional calendar. The dream of EPIC man was born and we started discussing venues and routes. Having been involved with EPIC since the start, I mentioned that the Lune / Halton Army Camp was a possibility and that I knew a really hard bike ride into the Trough of...

Dan & Rich Have A Grand Day Out In The Lakes at The Old County Tops

The Old County Tops is one of the UKs classic fell running races. It's 37 miles in length with 10,000 feet of climbing. It starts and finishes in Great Langdale and the route include the summits of Helvellyn, Scafell and Coniston Old Man. Rich has done it before, but it was so long ago, he forgot how much he suffered and roped in Dan to join him for another fun day out. Slateman Triathlon Report

For the 4th year in a row we found ourselves making the annual pilgrimage to Llanberis for the Always Aim High Slateman Triathlon. It's now a family ritual and a race that we are very fond of due to the scenery, location and overall atmosphere it generates. The water temperature is perhaps one of the things most regularly talked about, when the subject of Slateman arises. Each year the organisers draw a random...

TES Trail Team Tackle Parbold Hill Race

Following their mediocre performances at the Grizedale Trail 26 race, our intrepid trail team continued their North West tour, with the classic Parbold Hill Race, Saturday 11th Feb. They had low expectations and they failed to disappoint. Our correspondent Richard Bardon tells the story in his own words... The Endurance Store Trail Race team were out in numbers at the Parbold Hill Race on Saturday. This is one of the best races locally, just short of 7 miles of hills and plenty of mud. The race had sold out weeks ago and it seems that the majority of the 500...

TES Trail Team Tackle Grizedale Trail 26

The TES Trail Team made the trip to Grizedale Forest for the Montane Trail 26 season opener. It's always a popular event and the boys had low expectations, which matched their ability. Rich tells the story of their suffering. The Endurance Store Trail Race team were out in force (well, Dan and me) last weekend at the Montane Trail 26 race Grizedale Forest. I've done the half marathon before so, just for a change I decided to do the full marathon. Prior to the event everyone had said how much tougher and technical the second loop is. The weather was forecast...
